I've been playing around with MS Paint to create a slightly more colourful, if very basic, plan for the shunting layout that I'm currently developing. As you can see, this involved adding some lineside structures and a bit of landscaping to the basic design that I produced using the SCARM software. It's all a but crude and garish but has helped me to visualise things in a little more detail and depth. I think this layout plan is probably the best of the three or four that I originally put together but I'm still pretty flexible and could well do something completely different. I may now have a go at doing a proper isometric sketch of the layout using good, old fashioned pencils and paper!
